Can't make new page in odt with c-enter

I want to add a new page after a frame with text. I use Control-enter from the menu when my mouse is at the right place: after the last character.
If I try in the line between the pages the page is added after the next page.
Please give some hint.
Extra info: the .odt file is generated by Abbyy finereader.

Please upload a sample file. Your description is too “weak”.

I upvoted you so that you should be able to manage an upload.

Frames can’t spread across pages but if you want to extend the text within the frame to the next page you have to create a new frame on the next page. Then select the border of the first frame, you should now see an icon in the shape of two links, click that and then click the border of the second frame, a pale blue line linking the two frames will show. The text will flow into the second frame when it overspills the first frame.

Hello,
I want to send my file. How to do that? I do not see “insert file”.
I just want to insert a new page between two existing pages. My Control-Enter brings a new page after the second page.
Peter

If you just want to insert a page between the end of a frame that extends to the bottom of a page and the next page, just click at the start of the next page and then press Ctrl+Enter. The second page will be pushed to the third leaving the second blank.

If you still need to upload your file go to your original question and click “edit”. Place your cursor at the end of your question, add any descriptive text or date then click on the paperclip icon (Ctrl+F), Browse to your file, OK out.

You must move the cursor outside the frame to insert a page break. The page break is one of the few elements which do not fit in a frame.

Also, make sure that the cursor is not in the footer area (nor in next page’s header). Page breaks can’t go there either.

Hello,
finally I found how to upload my file.
My question is this:

  1. in the text you can find “AFDELING 2”.
  2. just before the beginning of that page I want to insert a blank page.
    How to do that?

It seems that the referred page and the page before are one.
with friendly greetings,

OMG! What was that! Is that a nightmarish result of OCR?

I do a fair amount of OCR work, but with an older version, ABBYY finereader 9.0. I find it easier to export as plain text, paste into a blank document created from my template as unformatted text and apply my styles as I work through. It is more labour intensive but but avoids problems with styles and allows me to correct detail that checking in OCR didn’t highlight, and lay it out for current expectations.

Coming to your issue, it would still be quicker to do as I do in the above paragraph. Do you want any of this text in frames(don’t seem to be normal frames)? It is an unwarranted and problematic complication. I would say copy the contents of each frame in order (except the page number frames), to a new document, change the remaining lists to real numbering (you might need blockselect to delete the text/spaces numbering), change the Language, Modify the styles to something sensible and everything should be editable like a normal Writer document, except for any oddities you miss.

Hello Earnest,
I will do as you say. Thanks for the advise.
Peter

Hello Earnest,
I found a solution. I got a tip when starting up Writer. It says something: make a pdf file that you can edit.
See the website of webmink.com. I made such pdf file. I opened in Writer. I could insert “new page” at the
place I wanted. I inserted the file I wanted. The font was fully wrong. I had to adapt that piecewise.
So, now it is as I want.
