[Draw][Resolved]Hold shift to move multiple shapes in one axis always deselect first

Task: Move multiple selected shapes (e.g. rectangles).

Steps:

  1. Hold left click
  2. Select multiple shapees (e.g. rectangles)
  3. Release left click
  4. Hold left SHIFT key
  5. Click on either one of the selected shapes, intending to move the shapes in one axis (left/right;up/down)
  6. Problem:The clicked shape is deselected

Existing solution: I must click twice and hold the second click to carry out the intended operation.

Question: Can I set Draw to let me simply click on a shape in step 5 to start moving them?

Libre Draw 7.0

Workaround

  • After selecting group of objects, release shift key.
  • Click and drag first, but don’t drop yet.

Don’t worry about going off axis in this step.
  • While holding mouse button pressed, press the shift key again.

The dragged objects will snap to nearest axis.
  • Drag into position along desired axis.

Your alternate “click twice and hold” solution is perhaps just as good. A matter of taste, and habit, I guess.

This helps. Thanks!
