The print function suddenly stopped working. Program closes when I click print. The printer (HP Laserjet 2420) works fine with other programs. I updated to 6.4.6.2 and reinstalled the printer but the problem persists. Same in safe mode. I’m running windows 10 pro 64-bit ver. 2004. Any thoughts on how to fix the problem?
Solved my problem. Malwarebytes Premium was blocking the application, no doubt due to a recent update of the software. Fixed it by turning off exploit protection in the security settings.

It’s not purely a Malwarebytes problem. I had the same thing on two different laptops. In both cases I changed to Apache OpenOffice and they printed perfectly without making any changes to Malwarebytes Premium.

@Rampak Yes all anti-virus now has anti-ransomware settings. Without an easy way for the user to allow a program to access the folders it is protecting, it is easier to turn off the anti-virus. Here is an official workaround from Malwarebytes forum to allow an easily overlooked MS Office suite to work. It looks as if it also applies to LibreOffice. You might wish to bring it to Malwarebytes attention as documented in the linked forum.
I have 3 computers, two laptops with wifi connection and one desktop with wired network connection. All three have Malwarebytes Premium and latest versions of LibreOffice.
My printer has a wired network connection.
Curiously the problem only affects the laptops, LibreOffice works properly on the desktop.
Apache OpenOffice works on all three.
No idea what conclusion can be drawn from this but I am reluctant to throttle Malwarebytes unless essential.
Creating an exclusion for a program is not throttling Malwarebytes. It is how you allow programs that are safe to run while at the same time blocking other, possibly unknown programs. Or did you not read the answer in the forum I linked to in the comment directly above? Cheers, Al

My solution was to use Apache OpenOffice instead of LibreOffice as it didn’t suffer from the conflict with Malwarebytes.
It’s a shame because I prefer LibreOffice, but it would appear that it is a problem that could be fixed in LibreOffice.
