Links In Writer Not Working - why?

I have Office 7.0.1.2 64 bit.

The document I am working on came to me as a docx and I am retaining that format and editing it as a docx.

When I insert hyperlinks everything seems fine but I discovered only today when I opened the document that though the links seem fine - they are in blue and underlined and hovering on them opens a box saying to click on it to link the the URL, which it shows - clicking on them does not open the URL.

Am I doing something wrong?

The behaviour you experienced is made default because it reduces the risk of inadvertently activating a link. Links can trigger malign actions. You cannot change this for any single link. If you consciously made the decision to take the risk you can change the setting under ‘Tools’>‘Options’>‘LibreOffice’>‘Security’>‘Security Options and Warnings’>‘Security Options’ third item concerning every link then. I would prefer to not change the default.

Thank you very much. Works like a charm. I guess I better put a note to that same effect when I return the document to them - the same could happen to them?

I just read your explanatory link. So the senders should be aware then. But I think I’ll still add a note.
