Writer Table Vertical Center Text

How may I vertically center text within Writer Table cells?
I have selected TABLE. I have also tried manually selecting cells.
What I have been doing does not work.

Table Properties, Text Flow, Alignment, Vertical alignment, Centered

Format, Align,Center

Unfortunately, your screenshots don’t show the style sidepane to consolidate my hypothesis. If I’m wrong, attach your file to your question for further analysis.

Table>Properties, Text Flow tab Alignment Centered should work.

However, users recently complained about custom formatting disappearing from tables. This is the case if the table was created with the “table wizard”, aka. “table styles”. When you create a table, any choice other then None in the Styles list (even “Default Style” will activate the table wizard which uses macros to format the table. Whenever you change “important” (?) table parameters, the macros are rerun and wipe out your user formatting.

Unfortunately, there is no way to “unstyle” a table to revert it to None style. You must create a new one and copy/paste the content of the old one. Warning! I’ve never done that and I don’t know is selecting the whole table before the copy will also copy the “style”. In doubt, copy cell per cell.

Good answer.

I am on LibreOffice version 7.
Here is how it works for me.

  1. Select all rows/columns of the table.
  2. Right click your selection and choose Properties.
  3. Select the Text Flow tab.
  4. Under Alignment → Vertical alignment, choosi “Centered”.
  5. Press Ok.

Note! The change does not effect the table at all unless I first select all of the cells that I want this change applied to.

Doing a quick google on this issue I could actually not find any proper documentation that works… But it was a quick googling.
