How to double page number?

I have a large writer document consisting of about 25 forms of varying lengths. They are in one document so that I have a contents list for easy access. I can number the whole document with no problem, but I’d like to also have each form separately page numbered for when they are printed individually. Is there a way to do this without manually numbering each page?

You can insert as many page numbers fields as You want using menu:

Insert->Fields->Page Number

To insert field(s) on every page use footer and header

Insert->Footer->{style}

Thanks. However, the page numbers still reflect the number in the whole document. What I need is, for example, form 3 may start at page 12 of the whole document so it shows a small Page 12 of 96 in the bottom right of the footer. But in the middle of the footer the first page of form 3 should show Page 1 of 4.

For to get the page numbered relative to a part of the document, you can start the part with a manual page break with page style and reset the page number to 1.

To get the current page number in relation to the whole document, you can set a field “page variable” at the begin of the document, and to show this page number use “show page variable” from the field variables.

But I do not know a way to get the subtotal of the pages of a part. I think, you need to enter this subtotal manually and adapt it manually while creating your document.

Yes, this is how to reset the page number at points in the document. However, perhaps my explanations are not clear of what I’m trying to achieve :frowning: What I want to do is have 2 page numbers on each page. One which is the page number for the whole document, and one which is the page number for that section of the document (this is the one which would reset to 1 at every new form in the larger document). Does that make sense? Perhaps it’s not possible?
