Can I print a document on a computer that does not have libre office?

I typed up a document but I don’t have a printer. The computer I can print off of does not have libre office. Can I print my document even though it doesn’t support the program?

There are a lot of good options to do so:

  1. Use shared printer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shared_resource)
  2. Use google docs reader - LO dokumend uploaded to the google (send by email or uploaded to google drive) can be read via google docs and print to local machine printer
  3. Portable libreoffice
  4. export to PDF (You can save as pdf, or in lates version there is a pdf button)
  5. Save as one of MS Office formats (not good actualy, can be some differences with original)
  6. And of course latest MS Office aps can open LO formats like .ods and .odt. (again can be some differences with original document)

Libreoffice writer gives you the choice of saving your document in any type you want (file → save as). If your other computer has MS office Word, you can save it as a .doc . docx etc.

You can export a document as a PDF, FILE > EXPORT as PDF, and then transport the PDF file to the other machine. This is the normal technique for Internet users. You will not be able to edit this file on the printer system just print it.

Perhaps, in the longer term, you could also install LibreOffice on the second system, then you would also be able to edit the files there. Good luck Peter

There are several options to print your documents:

  1. Print directly to printer from shared printer.
  2. Export your work to PDF file, so that you can carry the file and print anywhere you want.
