Data Sorting (source data is date format)

I am trying to sort data on a column which contains dates. For instance:

Column A Column B

======= =======

24/12/2010 A Fish Called Wanda

29/05/2010 A Good Day to Die Hard

03/04/2013 A Good Year

I can do this using MS Excel simply by selecting the option of “Sort anything that looks like a number, as a number”

I cannot however find a way of doing this using LibreCalc. LibreCalc sorts the data in Column A based on the first 2 characters.

Can anyone help me please?

I think there is not option in for this. But you can easily transform the text date in their values with Menu/Data/Text to columns, setting up properly the options.
