I’ve spend a lot of time formatting the appearance of my spreadsheets, but they are no longer being retrieved with my saved files. How to fix this problem.
Are you saving in .ods or a different file format? Formatting doesn’t always survive conversion to and from other file formats. Always saving in native format should fix the problem, unless it is something else… Cheers, Al
I was saving in .cvs format
Have you got the default Save format as .csv? Go to Tools > Options > Load/Save > General, under Document type, select Spreadsheet, in the next field down, Always Save As it should say ODF spreadsheet (*.ods).
When you save it as ODS, under Save as type you should select ODF spreadsheet (*.ods). If you just rename the .csv to .ods there will be no extra information saved.
That solved the problem. It took several (about 3 or 4 attempts), before it would save/load with the formatting. But now I’m good to go. Thank you.
It was part of the problem. I was saving in .cvs format which I knew didn’t save the formats. So I saved them in .ods format instead. But the problem exits it .ods format as well.
