file:///C:/Users/User/AppData/Local/Temp/lu9848bmagw9.tmp/lu9848bmagwf.tmp/index.htm (remote) - LibreOffice Writer/Web Disturbing. I didn't create them and can't get rid of them. First has a location in my files but it isn't there. I do have "hidden items" turned on. My security blocks "bitshute" as a dangerous site. How were these created in LibreOffice and how do I get rid of them?

Three questions :

  1. Have you been using LibreOffice to view documents on the Internet?

  2. What is your operating system? (I ask because you might need to use a 3rd party file manager to delete files that your operating system's own file manager cannot see.)

  3. Have you scanned your computer using a reliable virus detector since these mysterious files appeared?

I use Mozilla browser and run Win 10, 64 bit. I bookmark links of articles, and download pdf's when I can. But in case an article is (often) gone when I open a link again, or no pdf, I copy/paste articles from the websites into a LibreOffice document. The "AppData" file has since turned into/been replaced by? a really long thing that begins with https:// and includes the names of 3 sites I just visited. I have Bitdefender paid version and Malwarebytes Pro, both do scheduled scans, still coming out clean. They do a great job, one or the other always blocks any malicious site I might stumble onto, but I think I should do a deeper scan, like for registry? Rootkits? I had a file manager once and it was suspicious so I uninstalled it.. Thanks for your help :)

To delete, click on the red cross in the upper right corner of the file

all that does is delete the shortcut from the list on the pop-up when you open the LibreOffice program. The file is still wherever I put it in my computer. Except these two that appeared out of nowhere and I can't get rid of.
