BASIC i/o Error [Solved]

My LibeOffice crashed recently while spell checking a very long document with many tables. I could not get it to reopen or send a crash report, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now, I can edit a document, however I am getting this error while loading a document. Answers in other threads did not exactly match my situation, so I am asking here.

Error Message is:
Error loading BASIC of document file:///C:/Users/KLN/AppData/Roaming/LibreOffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/lu173845e6idt.tmp_/impressrunner-2-0.oxt/ImpressRunner/dialog.xlb:
General Error.
General input/output error.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

you need to reset your LibreOffice user profile (you obviously had installed an extension called ImpressRunner now causing that error - you need to reinstall the extension after having reset your user profile)

To reset the user profile perform:

  • Start LibreOffice
  • Start in Safe Mode using Help -> Restart in Safe Mode and confirm the restart using button: Restart
  • Archive your profile expanding Advanced (click on the word Advanced right above Help button) and click Archive User Profile button
  • Select option Reset to factory settings
  • Activate [x] Reset entire user profile
  • Click button Apply Changes and Restart

Hope that helps.

Excellent, and easy. Thank you!
