How do I re-start numbering for an ordered list?

I’ve writing a document which has section with a small number of number questions in it.

I’d like to create a numbered style for this block - so I can just apply it to each section in the document, to get everything right.

However when I try the use the numbering pane of the style (I don’t have enough karma to upload an example.) I can’t seem to get the numbering to restart, at the beginning of each block.

If I select each block individually and press the numbering button on the toolbar it does the right thing - but is there anyway of making the style do this.

(I’ musing LO 4.1.3.2 from debian Jessie).

By “section” do you mean Insert > Section… or is this just a general reference to a piece of content? Can you edit the question to be clearer about this? Thanks.

Maybe this is what your are looking for, modifying the option “Restart at this paragraph” for the first paragraph in each block.

I believe this answer by @mariosv to be correct. I just want to point out that this option is only available via the direct formatting (Format > Paragraph…) method and not when editing the paragraph (or list) style.

@oweng I think it is possible to create a new linked style with this option activated.

@mariosv, I can’t recall whether I have seen this or not. The related bug is fdo#51373. I will have a look at this issue again to try and determine if this behaviour has altered across versions.
