How do I remove the background from an image in Draw?

I was able to take the background off of my picture in power point and again in writing document, but here lately I cant remember how I did it. This is very important that I figure it out, please help.

I need it for a project.

Its something to do with tools or format, but I can’t remember

I edited the question to include “Draw” in the title as the question was originally tagged “draw” but please feel free to clarify this. Is “in power point and again in writing document” a reference to using MS Office to accomplish this task?

No, everything I used was in LibreOffice. When I was writing the question I meant to say LibreOffice Writer, but I couldn’t think of what it was called. But the power point was also LibreOffice Presentation.
And thank you for correcting me.

The process of removing the background (in Draw) from an image will depend on whether it is a raster (JPG, PNG, etc.) or vector (drawn object) object. The Draw Guide v4.1 pp.113-114 provides an overview, although in my experience the use of the Picture toolar to manipulate raster graphics, particularly in relation to removing a background, is limited. Transparency will affect the entire raster image. Draw is a fairly basic tool by comparison with dedicated image editing software.

Thank you for answering me(:
