I have email addresses and want them as links, but the are normal text. How to convert them?

I have a list of email addresses in Calc and they are normal text, how do I convert them to clickable email address’s ?

1. Select cell with the text email address and highlight the text
2. From Insert select Hyperlink then select “Mail & News”
3. If the dialog box does not default to E-mail, select the E-mail button.
4. The text field should have the email address.
5. In the Hyperlink Dialog the copy the email address in the text field into the Receiver field and then click on Apply.
6. Clicking on the cell should open your default email client in your system defaults

Works for me (still would be nice to have a mechanism for bulk-converting several email addresses to links at once).
