Styles and formatting wrong on import doc into Master doc

I have created 7 pages of template documents that I want to import into a Master document to combine them. The problem I’m having is that all of the documents look different after importing. It is not retaining the font or correct spacing that is in the original. Additionally, all of the template doc after importing is slightly larger overall which creates problems with truncated text, etc.

Really need help and thanks in advance!

Erik

If you expect an answer, edit your question to provide minimum descriptive information: OS name, LO version, save format (.doc as suggested by title, .docx, .odt?), …

You’re talking about “template”. Do you really mean a Writer template .ott file?

Have you consistently styled your files or direct formatted them?

You mention a “Master” document: is this really an .odm file? In this case are the styles consistent between the master and slave documents? Once again, direct-formatting will play nasty tricks on your back.

Please do not use Add Answer but edit your original question to enhance the details of your question (answers are reserved for solutions to a problem on this Q&A site).

Master documents in Writer

And here the general documentation:

@Astur: styles are not necessarily the same in all documents. When names are the same, definition in the master takes precedence. This is why it is preferable to base all documents on the same template and to avoid direct formatting.
