Usage of the last list number value so that it can be used inside of a formula in writer

hi, is it possible to automaticaly identify the last value of a list numbering so that it can be used inside of a cell of a table?

@ajlittoz: imagine i have 9 questions (all numbering listed)
only some of theese question have an answer yet
while i go on writing text i start question n.10;
if i’m able to identify this value i immagine to be able to identify all the answers too in some way (maybe because they start with "A: " or because the have a unique specific style for the Answers)
so i would like to use value 10 the the last question so that it can be place it in a table that reports total amount of questions and answers to use theese values in formulas (% answered for example)

Yes, but provide more details about your specific case. Give an example of what your want to achieve (even in textual form).

Please do not use Add Answer but edit your original question to enhance the details of your question (answers are reserved for solutions to a problem on this Q&A site).

What you need is a cross-reference. It works both with dedicated paragraph styles associated with a list style and with paragraphs numbered with the toolbar button.

(in a sophisticated document aiming at professional quality, I’d recommend avoiding the toolbar button to create numbered lists.)

Where you want to insert the number of a question (the number of the list item), Insert>Cross-reference, Cross-references tab. In the Type box, select Numbered Paragraphs, in the Insert reference to, Number. In the Selection list, click on the numbered paragraph you’re interested in. Push Insert.

Pay special attention to “the number of a question”. Please note I didn’t write “the current value of the numbering counter” or “the final value of the counter”. You create a reference to a specific question. If you add other items before the question, the cross-reference will be automatically updated, but if items are added after the question, the question number is not modified.

This means you must manually make sure the cross-reference points to the last question.
