I am on a Mac,Big Sur and find that I may have a window open and then want libra calc or writer, so I go to dock and hold libre icon and go to file for a new ssheet or writer document and most of the time it opens behind any current window/s that are open. Is there a preference or fix for this?

Some clarification: If libre is closed, it will open as front window. If libre is open and is the front window, choosing calc, writer etc will open in front. The problem is if libre is runing and Firefox is the active window, if you press and hold libre in the dock (mac big sur) the selected file to open from the dock opens in the background.
Any way to make the selected sheet, writer etc open in foreground?
