Hi, I looked at this question: How To Add Column/Row Number Automatically? but it did not work when I tried to auto-finish a row/column of months or days.
Is there a quicker way to autofill such standard text series without doing it manually?

So, what exactly did you do, and what does “it did not work” exactly mean?

So, what I did was try both the fill method and the drag down method. (These seem to work as Excel does.)
Putting “July” in the first row, when I dragged it down, all rows filled with July.
Put “July, August, September” in the first three rows, selecting all three and both dragging down and selecting Menu Sheet → Fill Cell → Fill Series… attempting with both radio button “type” and “time unit” I tried to enter July, and nothing happened.
Anything else? I mean, you don’t really need to know that it’s a dell Win10 machine since this is purely a software/formula question, right?
I do observe that the copy series action I’m used to from Excel does work on the calc sheet if one drags right. Perhaps this is just a limitation in Calc to not copy down?

AutoFill: Forms a series directly in the sheet. The AutoFill function takes account of customized lists. For example, by entering January in the first cell, the series is completed using the list defined under Tools - Options - LibreOffice Calc - Sort Lists.Thank you Leroy! That is the information I was looking for. It appears that Calc will only take the reference that starts the series, rather than filling from any series item. I’ll go play with it a bit, and see if I can make that work somehow.
It works as you describe it should; enter July and drag down gives July August September… Even works when formatted as Text or something else.
It fails if you start with a space or end with a space (or other character). Windows 10 20H2, LO 7.0.5.2
Type the data in the first two cells, select the range to fill, then choose Sheet - Fill Cells - Fill Series…
You can change the cell format as usual.
Tested with LibreOffice 6.4.7.2 (x86); OS: Windows 6.1.
