Where is the borders button

English US Win7 Pro
English US LO 4.2 – Writer application.

There used to be a ‘borders’ button in LO3x… which could be added to a toolbar via Customize Toolbar → Add Commands.
When I made the jump to LO4.x – forgot which version – the Borders button triggered a box without contents. Now, in LO4.2, the Borders button cannot be found.
Well, there is one in Table, but it is greyed when added to any Writer toolbar…

The borders functionality works in a normal fashion when activated via menu Format → Paragraph or right-click Paragraph.
Can’t find a related bug nor a work in progress regarding this. Do I need glasses, medication?
Thanks for your help.

It seems to be removed totally. It was the command “.uno:BorderDialog”. Documents, which contain the button in a toolbar, to not have it any longer, and macros, which call this command, do not work any longer. You should write a bug report, perhaps as request to get it back. It seems to be commit http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=8560fb88c7252e5ad60674e447f2e194298f08de. I have no idea, why it was removed.

Maybe in connection with the new LO 4.2 feature Character border: format one or more characters with a border (the same author: Tamás Zolnai). See also: fdo#35155 · Successfully implemented GSoC Ideas.

But character border is different from paragraph border. You see the difference very clearly, when you extend the surrounded text to several lines.

That’s my fault. I removed this “Borders” button and related code when I was working with character borders, because it seemed to be unused. When I called the corresponding command I experienced the same thing as you, a blank window.
It seems it was just bugous, so I will set it back and make it work again.
