Zotero integration doesn't work

I installed Libreoffice 4.2 along with the latest version of Zotero plugin. The zotero toolbar appears in Writer but the buttons are unresponsive. I have Zotero extension installed in Firefox too.

I forgot to mention that I’m using Linux Mint 15. Tried all those methods without success
