File sent to Calc instead of Text from a database

When consulting a data base (Pubmed in this case) I have the opportunity to print or send by e-mail a citation. Also to save it by clicking “file” in the menu. By doing that, the citation is automatically saved as a Calc document (format which is nearly impossible to be converted in a correct Text). Formerly with “Open Office” it worked well. What can I do to recover the possibility to transfer the citation directly in a Text? Thank you very much!!

Provide us with a link to an example in Pubmed, so that we can test.

All I can say is that this works for me on Linux Mint 15, Firefox and LO 4.1.3.2

In Firefox, I click on Send to, and choose File, I can then choose from 6 different export formats for the file. If I choose Sumary(Text), I get asked if I want to open the file in Gedit, which it does without problem. Of course, if I choose CSV as the output, then the default behaviour on my machine is to open that with Calc.
