Are there any helper / guide lines in impress?

Sometimes I need to align text (as in, a single line from a multi-line, paragraph text) and equations (which are considered drawing objects) in Impress, so I was wondering if there are any helper or guide lines in Impress, like there are, say, in Inkscape (see e.g. Inkscape: Guide to a Vector Drawing Program: Snapping: Guides or Applying Text to a Greeting Card in Inkscape | for example with screenshots). It doesn’t really have to allow snapping - all I need is a visual guide (horizontal or vertical line) that I can easily add, move and delete.

Any such tool in impress?

Impress has guides and snap lines. Those sdaau mentioned are the snap lines. Goto Tools > Options > Impress > View and enable “Snap lines when moving” to get guides. But the wording there is wrong. That are no “snap” lines but simple guide lines.

Many thanks, @Regina - didn’t know about those “Snap lines when moving”, good to know… and good to have the terminology clarified in any case! Am accepting this as an answer - cheers!

Ah, turns out there are - go to View menu, click on Ruler - rulers appear, and then guidelines can be dragged from the rulers, like in Inkscape.

Nice :)
