left header & footer not possible in Calc

Version: 7.1.1.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: fe0b08f4af1bacafe4c7ecc87ce55bb426164676
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: ja-JP (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon

Suddenly I cannot enter any text or date, etc. in the left area of the header and footer in Calc

I enter the header / footer area as follows:
Format > Page > Header (or Footer) > Header: ON, Same content on left and right pages: ON > Edit

Left area: grey, cursor canot be placed in Left area

Center & Right area: white and functions normally

What is blocking the Left area?

I restarted LibO and restarted PC; nothing enabled Left area.
I also used a template with Left and Right area defined. right area shows up left area does not.

I appreciate your help a lot.

Please upload your .ods type sample file here.

Do you mean the left/right area of the Header/Footer, or do you mean the Header/Footer area of the left/right page of the Page Style?

@ROSt53
Start on the left part of the header with a user defined format/content, then you can fill in the other parts of the header as you like that. Seems to be a bug?

No problem with Version: 7.1.1.2 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: fe0b08f4af1bacafe4c7ecc87ce55bb426164676
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

Calc: threaded

I have the same problem on Ubuntu 18.04 with LibreOffice 7.1.4.2.
It works on the Windows version, and to add to the confusion; it also works on another computer with Ubuntu 18.04 with LibreOffice 7.1.4.2.

The problem is only on the “Left area” for the header. On the footer it is working correctly.
This happens on all spreadsheets. Even on new ones.

So I edited the Left area on the computer where it works.
I then opened the spreadsheet on the computer where it does not work, and the correct text will show when I print/export/preview but I can not change it.
If I change the Center or Right area on the computer where it does not work, the Left area is set to blank.

Upgrading to LO 7.1.5.2 did not help either.

If someone has found a reason for this, or a solution, it would be nice to know.

I have the same.

Apparently this bug tdf#144258.

the bug indicated is the one I have. I am now on v7.5.6.2.
Until when could this bug be fixed?

It works in my WinPenPack portable LO 7.5.7 version:

Thanks for all your replies.

Reading through them gives me the feeling that the bug @erAck is valid for Linux versions. It started a few versions ago but I don’t recall when it happened.

@ROSt52 @ROSt53 Maybe you could add your information to that bug the now last comment 11 on the bug asks for months.
