I’m running Debian sid, libreoffice (= 1:7.0.4-4), and I have the metapackage for the full installation installed, but possibly not all Recommends recursively.

When I start soffice and click Remote Files̲ and then M̲anage services and A̲dd service, the T̲ype dropdown offers a number of things I had hoped to never hear of, but not Google Drive, which should supposedly be there.

What am I missing?

This (Google Drive) has not worked for a very long time (bugs reported) and is unlikely to be fixed.

I hope@cloph could prove this wrong (finalizing the Redmine issue).

A few years ago it was possible to connect the LibreOffice interface to a Google Drive and I even made an instruction on how to do it.

However, this was dangerous, since Google Drive is connected to other Google services with the same authentication, so a worm that would get into your LibreOffice settings would be enough to take over all your data ...

Therefore, now the Alphabet decided that it was not profitable to maintain two separate affiliation systems, so everyone got business-class security, in which protective paranoia is raised a few degrees higher.

A year ago, you could use the OpenDrive application to log in to Google Drive. A detailed overview can be found here. Today, when I wanted to use this method, I failed :-(

It is also worth adding that Ubuntu Gnome provides its own interface for handling Google Drive. So maybe you can get them transplanted into Debian.

Sorry, but this is not an answer, it basically lists a number of things known _not_ to work…

This means you've installed gnome-online-accounts, read all the links available in /usr/share/doc/gnome-online-accounts/README …and nothing worked.

Or do you just know it doesn't work?
