How do I stop saving previous session

In short I’m simply looking for a way to stop LibreOffice from opening up documents that were from the last session. In other words I want it to open either a startup screen or a blank document instead of whatever was opened when I closed libreoffice last.

I use Libreoffice primarily for school, as such I often have several study sheets, power points etc open which my machine handles no problem especially when each document is opened individually or in small groups. The problem comes when I shutdown with all of the docs open. Due to the fact that libreoffice forces(or fails to make the setting to turn it off easy to find) you to open every document that were previously opened at the last session. I’m sure this is great for people with one or two files but when I need to quickly access libreoffice and I’m waiting on 10 powerpoints and 5 word documents etc. to load all while my machine is starting leads to a significant delay in my ability to use the program.

You really should be exiting LO correctly to prevent the restore process from starting the next time LO is used. The recovery process can however be suppressed by use of the --norestore parameter. It will be necessary to edit the shortcut or menu entry to include this parameter and how this is done will vary according to operating system.
