The extension is .man instead of .msi in the downloadable files

I examined the Main Installer and the extension is “.man” instead of the normal “.msi”

I tried in
a) http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-stable/

The downloaded installer for both LibreOffice stable versions 4.1.5 & 4.2.2 was in “.man”!!!

and

b) http://el.libreoffice.org/download/

The downloaded installer for LibreOffice stable version 4.1.5 was NORMAL = “.msi”
The downloaded installer for LibreOffice stable version 4.2.2 was in “.man”!!!

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 32-bit, IE-11.

Today, I was prompted by Libre Office to download an update. I clicked on the link which led me to the Libre Office website, from where I downloaded a 201MB file named LibO_3.5.5_Win_x86_install_multi.man . However when I double click on it, I get the dreaded “Windows can’t open this file” message. What to do now? Using Win 7 64 Strangely, previous updates did not have that hiccup.

How to solve the above mentioned bug?

So, you can deactivate this behavior
in Internet Explorer 8:

Internet Options → Security Settings

“Custom Level” → Miscellaneous section:

Open files based on content, not file extension

Even better, all mirrors should set
the correct mimetype for msi:

AddType application/octet-stream .msi"

You may file a follow-up bug report, and please specify the corresponding mirrors.
