Remove ` accent mark from currency cell in Calc

When downloading reports from my broker into Librecalc, the entries in currency cells will contain a hard-coded accent mark and currency symbol (’$1234.56). I want to remove the accent mark and currency symbol from these cells without having to manually edit each one, so that the entries appear as simple numbers (1234.56).

I have attempted to use the Search and Replace function, but it does not seem to be able to find the accent mark, thus is responds with a “not found” error message.

Select the cells, choose menu Data - Text to Columns… - OK.

EDIT: Unmark the Format as Currency button in the toolbar, (or press Ctrl+Shift+4).

LibreOffice Help on Text to Columns.

Tested with LibreOffice 7.0.6.2 (x86); OS: Windows 6.1.
