I am opening excell 97 file in libre. unable to unhide columns hidden in the excell file

O S Win XP Media centre edition Version 2002 SP3
LIBRE OFFICE 4.2.2.1
LIBRE OFFICE $.2 Multilanguage(000420(Build :1))
How can i show hidden columns in my original MS Excell spreadsheet

Just select the column that is to the left and the one to the right by clicking on the name of the column (e.g. R) and drag (without releasing) to the name of the following visible column (e.g. X)

Now that that the block is selected you can release the left mouse button.

Click with the right mouse button on the selected columns’ name and from the menu choose Show.

Thanks for answer Pedro. However this did not work on my setup also did not work on original MS Excel set up as I now remembered . What did work on both programs was selecting the whole spreadsheet by clicking in cell at top left hand corner and then clicking on Format, column, unhide.

@Grandad75, I’m glad you found a solution  Thank you for reporting back. This might be useful for someone with a similar problem.

Thanks Grandad75

I do not have the option to unhide in Libre. I have the option to “show”. However neither one works for me. I tried both ways suggested by Grandad75. Now what do you suggest?
