How do I remove font color from writer documents?

Documents prepared in LO Writer carry as part of the font settings a color. I wish to strip that out so my desktop publishing software doesn’t have to deal with this. I just need the black and white text. Suggestions?

Maybe from the top left side of writer you can use the “clear format” style. Be careful because it will change not only the colours but also the font type.

  1. Do a “Select All” -

  2. Go to the icon on the far right side of the toolbar that has three colored dots and some sort of squiggle and a bar of color under it. The tool tip says “Font Color.”

  3. Select the downward pointing triangle on the right side. A box with a lot of different colors will show up. Select the “Black” in the upper left corner. This will change all text to black. It might give you a “paint bucket” to fill all the text if you have not selected all of it prior to this. In this case just use your mouse to “paint” the text.

If you only need to change the font of a particular style e.g. Default Text, Text Body:

  1. Open the style window (Format > Styles and Formatting, or F11)
  2. Right click on the style > Modify
  3. Select Font tab. Change font colours.
  4. Save/Apply
