Went to libreoffice.org to download program to my new laptop. Did the donation thing and my bank debited my account for $10 but I am unable to down load libreoffice. And, would like to transfer libre files from old computer to new laptop. Need specific and layman’s term instruction to add libre to my new laptop.
First you don’t need to donate to be able to download.
Second, it is not important to have a desktop PC, a labtop works in the same way. (I only use a labtop.)
If all the help in the link indicated by @Rugslug doesn’t help, you need to check your labtop settings and internet access settings to see if there is something blocking you.
By the way, I look http://office.org/ , the link you indicate above.I could not see see anything but a dark-brown background. (scripts and cookies enabled). Where did you really try to download? I download form: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ and this is not the link you indicated.
I’m downloading LO with Firefox and when reaching the donation page I get a warning from Firefox (top of window, 1 line) which says “Firefox prevented the page from redirecting to another page” and a a little button on the right side “Allow”. I have to click this button to start the download.
