I can not copy, insert, or otherwise get an image in Writer

I used to be able to either copy to, or even drag drop images to Writer. Now all I get is a rectange with the Anchor “image no x” on it and my image is not there. I useted to be ale to do this as easy as anything.

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, Libre Office Version: 4.2.3.3 Build ID: 420m0(Build:3).

I checked file permissions and every thing else I could think of.
