Pdf export without .ods.pdf

Hello, whenever I want to export a file to PDF I always get this:
filename.ods.pdf or filename.odt.pdf.

How do I get rid of the .ods/.odt?

I just want filename.pdf.

Thank you for any help here.

My pdf export saves as filename.pdf (LO 4.2.5.2 on OSX 10.9.4). You might have to provide your OS & version and version of LO as you are asked to do when you submit a question.

LibO 4.2.5.2 on XP/SP3 works fine as well

When you export a .odt or .ods file to a .pdf, the extension .pdf is added to the file name. If you call the file FILEX.odt in the file name field the pdf will be called FILEX.odt.pdf. Simarly FILEY.ods will become FILEY.ods.pdf. I was wondering whether this is the problem. Peter

@petermau
In may case (LibO 4.2.5.2 on XP) the file extension of the LibO files disappears when exporting to pdf.

I made a test:

  • Creating an odt-file using the name DelMe.odt
  • Exported to pdf - see screenshot below
  • When I now click on “Export”, the pdf-file is called DelMe.pdf without the odt-extension in it.

I am using the LibO Open/Save dialogs.

I am now wondering if there is a difference for different OS.

@ROSt53, @petermau is talking about typing “filename.odt” into the File name field of the export to PDF dialog i.e., adding the extension.
