Libre Office Calc i want to apply thick border for cell

How do i apply thick border for cell? Like in excel you have both option in cell border ribbon, of thin and thick border line. I cannot find same option in calc. I required frequently to apply thin and thick border for many cells randomly. Is there any way where i can add custom border to the border section? Or any alternative for this. Thanx in advance

Also any option of creating my custom toolbar in calc

Please review and reply.

  1. In the sidebar (View > Sidebar if it is not displayed) select the Styles & Formatting panel.
  2. Right-click on the Default cell style entry > New…
  3. Give the new style a meaningful name e.g., “Thick borders” or “2pt borders all around” > select Borders tab > under Line Arrangements section select All Four Borders > under Line section set the required Width (e.g., 2.00 pt) > click OK.
  4. For any cell requiring this newly defined border, apply the cell style either by double-click on the cell style entry in the sidebar or assign this cell style to a keyboard shortcut (Tools > Customize… > Keyboard tab > Category of “Styles” and “Cell Styles” > Function of the name of the newly created style).

But how to change default value from toolbar icon? whenever I apply some borders, the default border line is 0,05. And I want 1 pt. Is this possible? I don’t want additional style.

@Ljiljan, I believe the Design/UX team are currently working on changing the default value to something more reasonable than the current hairline of 0.05 pt. Refer tdf#53011 and tdf#99027.

I read it, but it does not seem that anything is going to be changed soon. There is no some work around? Thanks for your help.

This functionality is so basic, and easy to do in Office: it it is one of many reasons I just nope out of this software after about 200 key strokes in. Basic things like how does the spreadsheet look are not even on the horizon for being made convenient. grrr…

like, ‘duh’
after five years, no progress
the line width is set at .05, and any attempt at altering it is met with the null executable
c’mon you guys

Tables with no borders are now must-have! I like the academic style table, almost no need for table’s borders. Anyway, if there is no agreement between key team members, maybe we can introduce an option in Options, so you can leave 0.05 as a default value, but allow other users to change it to, let’s say, 0.8 or even 1? Because current buttons in toolbars are not useful at all, because I need to change it manually.
