Preserve format when opening/saving from Libre?

I’m trying to move more of our users away from MSO and over to Libre but I have some nagging issues that may force me to retreat unless I can get some solutions.

  1. Freeze pane settings are removed. -Open sheets in Excel and set panes to be frozen. Open and re-save as .xls from Libre and the freeze action is gone? How do I preserve the state that they were in originally so Libre is not changing it?

  2. Chart format from Excel is damaged by Libre Calc. -These are old .xls sheets compatible back to Excel 2000, behavior OK in all versions of MSO, not OK in Libre. -The chart title and plot area change when opening in Libre. The Chart title is appended with “sub title” and the plot area is reduced to 0 height so no plot is visible at all. If corrected in excel, they charts are damaged again by Libre in this way.
How do I preserve the chart title and size settings when opening and re-saving as .xls from Libre?

These two issues affect nearly 40 workbooks that I need employees to view so the format damage is a deal breaker for staying with Libre but if I could just find a way past them we’ll be leaving MSO in the dust.

Thanks in advance.

I will have a look later to see if I can find some related bug reports. It is worth noting though that support for non-native file formats will never be as good as that for the native file format (ODS).
