The bar button is almost the same shade of gray as the bar so I would like to change the color. The arrows at the end of the bar are gone and I would like them back and the bar is too narrow for my taste.

I think scroll bars take their configuration from the OS, please what is your OS?

It appears that mint removed the arrows because they thought they were unneccesary. Thanks for the hint.

It turns out they are correct the arrows are not necessary if you know the rules for clicking on the bar with the mouse. Clicking with left and right mouse buttons at the same time replaces the arrows. Clicking with central mouse button move up if you are above the slider and down if you are below it. Clicki and drag with the central button scolls smoothly.

I would have never thought to look at OS for scrollbar configuration. Thanks again for the hint.
