Mail Merge Very Slow

I am doing a very small mail merge of 200 news letters. The news letter has the fields on the first page for mailing. We merge, print, fold, tape and mail. Nothing too fancy.

My problem is mail merge is taking so long to complete. I’ve been sitting here watching it and it’s been over an hour and it is only on document 171 of 217.

This slowness is new to me. I’ve not seen it before. Anyone know why this might be happening?

Having the very same problem. Database is relatively small (360), but the merge is excruciatingly slow. Haven’t seen anything this slow since the early 90’s. What’s the issue?
