How I can insert a variable footer, which present a different phrase on each page plus the page number?
What phrases do you want to use? It might be, that a suitable field exists.
I´d like to insert quotations/proverbs. I try defined fields but I don´t know how to use “Insert/Fields/others”, if that´s I need.
Is there any way to create and use a text vector with page numbers as index?

Here some suggestions to make the footer content more variable. I hope they are useful for you:
The page numbers are inserted via Insert > Fields > Page number. They will show the current logical number of the page and adapt automatically. Set the cursor into the footer and click on the item in the menu. You find the page number in the dialog from “Other…” in tab Document too, but you need it only, if you want a style different from that specified in the page style.
To get headings into the footer use Insert > Fields > Other… > tab Document > item Chapter. Find in the right column of the dialog the choice, whether the text and/or the number of the heading is inserted and from which outline level the heading is taken. This field shows the heading of that chapter to which the first paragraph on the page belongs. The dialog has a button Insert to actually insert the item into the document.
For my personal use I often insert the printing time and the path to the file. Those fields are in tab DocInformation. I have a document template with this fields, so that each document gets in own text there. Inside one document it is of cause on all pages the same entry.
You can use the field “Set variable” in the textbody, and insert the field “Show variable” in the footer. They are in the tab Variables. You must be careful to choose the format “Text” on the right side of the dialog, because the selection always jumps back to “Standard”. The field “Set variable” can be invisible, there is a checkbox. The field “Show variable” shows the current value of the variable at the begin of the page. Such value does not change for each page, but the shown value in the footer is the same until you set a new value to the variable in the textbody. If you do not remember where your hidden “Set variable” is, you can toggle the view options “Field shadings” and “Field names” in the menu View.
Header and Footer content belong to the page style. Therefore you can set a new text into the footer, whenever you change the page style. And you can have different text on right and left sides, when you disable the option “same content left/right” in the page style.

I could help my daugther finish her school homework.
As you explain I insert First in the textbody of any page a “Set variable” field with each individual value assigned and the check box “Invisible” checked.
Then I insert in the footer a “Show variable” field, and double clicking each “Set variable” field and changing their value everything goes fine.
Well, almost everything. When I save the document, close Libreoffice and open it again, almost all that work was vanished, not only the “Show variable” fields, the complete footer with page numbers too, but not the “Set variable” field of each page. Also the variable change from “Cita” to “Quotations”.
I set the “Show variable” field in the first line of the footer and the page number field in the next one.
Any clue?
PS: I forgot to write that I use the spanish translation of Libreoffice 4.3
Do you save in .odt format? Saving in .doc format will not work. But I guess, that the footer is not the right place at all for what your daughter needs. It sounds, as if she wants to make a footnote. In the textbody Insert > Footnote and then at the bottom of the page insert the text. “Quotations” are things, which usually are not set into the footer. She should look at http://openoffice-uni.org/ for a tutorial for the technical aspects of writing a paper.
I saved it first in odt and then in doc because I need to print it in colour (and my printer is a monochrome). I tried later to reproduce what I did and it happens again no matter if I save it or not as doc.
A footnote is not the answer to what she needs (by the way she´s only 10 years old, so I´m in charge to do all the research). The work was a kind of monography about one of our first patriots and I thought that it was a good idea to add in each page one short thought from him.

The first page has no footer. I tried both creating the footer with variable and page number fields first and then unchecking “First page with same content” (“Mismo contenido en la primera página” in LibO in spanish), into the dialog Page style, and then erase the first page footer, and viceversa, with the same result: I save the document (odt format), then I close LibO, and no footer the next time I open it.
For that case and considering the age of your daughter I would not use the footer for such citations. I would use on each page a frame anchored to the page. Set the position then as you need it. To make it more varied you can place such frame into outer or top margins too.
This works better and it´s more clear to her (and to me when I explain her how to do that).
