(Feature request for Writer) Color nonprinting characters [closed]

Editing text with nonprinting characters displayed is useful. However, having nonprinting characters the same colour as the text is distracting. It would be helpful if nonprinting characters were displayed in light gray, light cyan or a user-selectable color.

In my Windows version 4.3.2. they are cyan or a similar shade of light blue.

  • tdf#58674 VIEWING: Customizable Nonprinting Character appearance, resolved as a duplicate of tdf#80054 below.
  • tdf##68071 Editing: Non-printing Characters are Not Set Apart from Text, fixed for v4.3 (Windows, GNU/Linux) and v4.4 (MacOS) by setting colour of these characters to a cyan shade (6abed3).
  • tdf#79381 Color of non-printable characters is hard-coded to light blue
  • tdf#80054 Add option to allow user to select color of non-printing characters, proposal has initial changed the colour set in tdf#68071 above to Solarized blue (268bd2) for v4.3 but eventual objective is to have a user-specified option.
