Why do my powerpoint slides look different and fail to open links?

Prepared three lessons at home using PPT slides and included links to websites as well as videos (Youtube). When I took them to my class and opened them they looked different. Format was changed, words did not fit and links would not open. Then the AV system went to ‘no signal’. Could not reopen my presentation no matter what I tried.

MSO does not fully support the ODF standard and different MSO file versions have different formats to save files. Thus there is no consitency among MSO files. Therefore, please inform on your MS Powerpoint version and LibO version.
LibO formats fulfill the ODF standards. You might want to have look here:

2 additional comments:

  • The LibO developers are doing a great effort to reach the moving target of MSO file format and the higher the LibO version is, the better is the chance that there are no/only little differences between the MSO files and LibO files.

  • It seems that you work at home with MSO and at school/college/university with LibO. May I suggest you install LibO on your home PC as well? (It is free of charge, like a free beer!!)
