I’m facing an issue with the index/table of contents generation in the document.
I am inserting a document index using the “Insert Index/Table” command from the menu options.
However, when I close the document, reopen it, and update the index- the hyperlinks do not work.
Also, the index levels collapse and only the main headings (Heading1) remain.
I tried regenerating the index afresh, but it doesn’t work.
Can you please help?

I am creating a Software Requirement document using Libre Office Writer version 4.2.
I want a table of content in the following format:
1 INTRODUCTION 4
1.1 Purpose 4
1.2 Scope 4
2 SYSTEM OVERVIEW 6
3 DETAILED SYSTEM DESIGN 8
3.1 Design description 9
I click Insert, go to “Insert Index/Table” from the menu option and apply formatting to the individual Levels.
For example, for Level 1, the index Structure is LS LS E# E T. Similarly for Level 2 and Level 3.
Once I click OK, the index is generated and I save and close the document. However, when I reopen the document and click Update Index, the table of content looks like:
The second level index and the hyperlink is removed.
I think some where, the LibreWriter resets the index properties on reopening the document.
