When I open documents in LO Writer, it creates a new bookmark for each chapter heading in my document, and I can’t get it to stop. If I delete them, they reappear next time I open the doc. How can I stop this from happening?
I think (I may as well be wrong on that) this is due to format incompatibility issues… Do not open .doc/.docx file directly. Instead - try to select appropriate Word version from dropdown list just below main selection box in the File > Open dialog and then try opening your document
Hey developer11, I think you just did it! Thank you very much. I deleted the bookmarks, closed the document as the appropriate type, then did what you suggested to open it again, and… no unwanted bookmarks! I wish I understood more of why it was doing what it was doing because I really want to use LO from now on, but I have so much material written with MS word I was dreading having to do multiple edits/reformats. But I’m on the way now! Thanks again.
