Need a workaround for loss of chart data on save

Bug 68948 related
Bug 67097 related
Ubuntu 1404

A bit more detail:
I really need to save a spreadsheet file in which a “scatter plot” chart shows values taken from cells in the spreadsheet itself. Every time I save the file the values get saved in something called a “Data Table” and when I introduce new data in the original cells it is ignored in the chart. I am doing calculations and I need to see the curve that results. Recreating the entire graph with several lines takes an hour that I just don’t have to spare. Perhaps a script that creates a new chart?

The newer version installed OK and a simple test shows a better behaviour. Further tests tomorrow.ipagr

Please consider this answered. libreoffice 4.3 has repaired the problem. Lots of thanks.

Please also excuse me. I simply cannot figure out how to log in to this site! I don’t do the funny sites you have in the login page and my Yahoo account is older and doesn’t work the way it did when it was pretty much the only thing. Somewhere there must be a button to set the status to answered but I can’t find it.

Having visited the two bug reports you mentioned I don’t think it’s the same bug. What version of LibreOffice are you riding over the ridges of ubuntu? They don’t update frequently I think and discourage users to get updates from other repositories. However the lower versions of the 4.x series containing a lot of new code may be rather buggy. You might consider updating to 4.3.5 if you not did already. See http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppa/libreoffice .(I’m not on Ubuntu.)

Version: 4.2.7.2 Build ID: 420m0(Build:2)
I’m on my way to get more recent. Thank you.
