Any real advantage an official release has over a nightly built?

Is there any difference in terms of reliability? I mean are there specific tests done that makes an official release more certain of reliability? In my experience, an official release may have serious regressions.

I nightly built refers to a just written code. It can be perfect and it can have some bugs. If you want stability go with the official release. If you are a computer freak, you might try the nightly builts.

Thanks. But official releases have bugs too, sometimes even some regretful regressions. So they seem equal in that way, right? What measures are taken to make an official release more stable?
