Takes 2-3 minutes to open spreadsheet

I have a medium-sized spreadsheet (268kb). In the last couple of days it takes 2-3 minutes to open. It takes just as long to save it before I close out of the program. When saving it the LibreOffice listing at the top switches every ten seconds or so to (Not Responding), then the screen flickers and the not responding messaage goes away. I opened the latest upgrade download and ran the “repair” selection. It completed just fine, but the problem remains. Have I somehow put something in the spreadsheet that LibreCalc chokes on when loading or saving? Thanks in advance.

Windows 8.1

I may have just found a clue that might help someone solve this (& if you do please let me know the answer). I’ve been having similar experiences; it takes 2 to 3 mins (or more) to open a spreadsheet (any file any size)… Possible Clue? I found whenever I turn my printer off, for some reason, LibreOffice Calc takes several mins to open but when my printer is on it opens totally normal with little to no delay whatsoever. Is there a setting somewhere to correct this? Perhaps a print setting?

I would reset my user profile. For details please refer to: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

As I read about resetting my profile, it looked really promising. But there is still a delay of 45 seconds to a minute before it loads (it’s getting better). Data integrity of the spreadsheet is not effected.
