Keyboard stops getting recognized suddenly

Hello all,

I use latest Libreoffice on Ubuntu. I use Calc, Impress and Writer for all my applications. Earlier I used to use Open Office, but now after getting positive reviews I switched to Libre Office.

Out of a sudden I hvae started getting the problem:-
Suddenly keyboard stops working under Libreoffice, though all other applications which are running along with it recognize keyboard. So I’m not able to type anything under Libreoffice.

Can somebody take me out of this, I want to stay with Libreoffice.

Same issue here - restarting helps, but why? Any insights since january?

Exact same issue. Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS, kernel 3.13.0-52. Keyboard just stops working suddenly. Works everywhere else. Only started happening last night. Actually, pretty much 24 hours ago. :-k

… and yes, restart, it works. Then stops randomly …

Dis this ever get solved? I’m having the same problem, Kubuntu 14.04, LibreOffice 4.2.8.2

Did you enable (do you need) ‘Complex text layout (CTL)’ and/or ‘Asian’ writing? As there are many languages written from right to left this might be a background condition for your experiences. By default there are also two icons for working under CTL (pens with faint arrows) for setting the direction of writing in the ‘Formatting’ toolbar.
