Trying to protect and unprotect fields

Called Legacy Forms in Word, the feilds in Writer work perfectly with my old templates. However, I am trying to edit the old templates and then update them and resave them. In Word I used the Developer tab to “Protect”/“Unprotect” the document. In old Word 2007 I had to tell it to protect the document from editing, and choose “Allow filling in forms” then it would ask me if I wanted to password protect the document from editing. Is this possible with the new Libre Office yet?? It was not possible in previous versions and I had to use another free office replacement. I like Libre Office for everything else I do, it would be absolutely awesome if this is possible, even if it is difficult.

Is your purpose not fulfilled by creating a PDF form? It would allow you to have non-editable forms.

Answering the old question:

To (un)protect the forms, you can use OptionsLibreOffice WriterCompatibility and check/uncheck Protect form.
