How do I get rid of paragraphs bottom margin?

Writer, Version: 4.3.5.2, Mac OS X, all English.

Problem: I’m working on a Writer template, and when I work on the paragraphs styles, even if I set the bottom margin to 0, and I also check the “Don’t add space between paragraphs of the same style” option, I get a bottom margin. I am not able to get rid of that, it’s like if it was there “by default”. When I hit return, there’s still a space between paragraphs even if I set all to 0. Any possible solution?

Check the option “Do not add leading(extra space) between lines of text” in Tools > Options > Writer > Compatibility.

In addition you should consider, that usual characters have some space in themselves. Please try this: Set a background color to the paragraph and another background color to the next paragraph. In both paragraphs insert characters from the subset “Box Drawing”. For example the font “Liberation Sans” has got such characters. These characters are designed to span the whole row height so that they connect to a continuous line. Please look, whether you still see space.

This solved my problem. Thanks a lot for your answer, much appreciated. Have a nice day! - Axel.
