I use LibreOffice

I've installed Scribus and noticed that it does not open LibreOffice Writer documents. Do we need Adobe InDesign?

I have seen many ebooks published from LO into EPUB, MOBI (that is, unencrypted AZW3), and PDF for electronic distribution. However, publishers often will demand Word, which is the 'standard'.
