Right now if cell A1=“Bob was really surprised!” and cell A2="=A1", cell A2 would only carry the text, not the italics and bold from A1. For me this poses a problem - I have complex sheets with formatted comments as a component of them. It would be nice if there was an “inherited” format checkbox where you could have the inherited format override default formatting!
Don’t make sheets too complex! Don’t use formats to code for relevant information!
Presently there is no way to pass formats, in specific those of texts differently formatted in parts, as a result of a function or a formula. Partial formatting of texts is a rather complicated thing on the implementation level.
