Has the Navigation Flyout been removed? [Solved]

This help page says:-

“Open the Navigation toolbar by
clicking on its icon located in the
vertical scrollbar.”

There is no icon to click on, and I cannot discover any means to add it. All that is there is the normal system scrollbar button (I’m used to OpenOffice, so know what to look for; it is not there!).

libreoffice v4.3.1 (from AVLinux) was previously installed. No Navigator Flyout. I Updated to current, but still no flyout. Next, purged libreoffice completely via Synaptic (including all config files). Then re-installed LibreOffice via dpkg. All that changed was that I lost the computer-based help-files (not good).

If that feature is no longer in LibreOffice I can stop looking for a fix. Otherwise, what on earth is going on?

OS: Debian

~$ uname -a
Linux AVLinux 3.12.19avl2-pae #4 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jun 16 22:55:48 EDT 2014 i686 GNU/Linux

New, default install of LibreOffice Version: 4.4.3.2

Hi

Since 4.3 (Release notes) the Navigation buttons have been moved from below the scrollbar to the Find bar (Edit Find or View ToolBars or Ctrl+F). (due to rendering Issues in some environments).

Further this feature has not changed in the Navigator (Sidebar or View Navigator or F5)

Regards

Many thanks indeed for your answer, Pierre-Yves, together with link & reasoning. I relied on the original feature for most of my document navigation & the replacement is not up to scratch. What a shame that they did not provide a means to switch the feature on/off, and leave it off by default with a note saying why. What a shame also that the documentation lags so far behind the changes.
